2008-2009 Class Schedule Introduction to Glass Fusing This is a Three Meeting beginning kiln working class. This class will teach you basic glass fusing techniques and safety. We will cover glass selection, construction of glass projects, annealing times, and kiln firing programs. This class will be an exercise in basic plate making, which is kiln work's most popular form. Participants make two fused and slumped plates with pre-cut elements. Instruction, kiln firings and materials included. When: Class meets: Sat. Jan.17th 10am-3:30pm and Sun. Jan.18th 10am-2pm There is also an optional meeting Thurs. Jan 22nd 6:30-7:30 to pick-up and discuss your projects. Class Fee: $185.00
Beginning Stained Glass: This is a six-week introductory class for beginners or those who would like a refresher class. Structured demonstrations and free work periods as well as limited class size make this a great way to get started in glass. When: Class starts: Sat. TBA 9:30am-12:00 noon This class meets six consecutive Saturdays. Fee: $125.00 (some tool purchase is required)
Intermediate Stained/Fused Glass Class: This is a nine-week class that meets one day a week, for the student with beginning stained and/or fused glass experience. Introductory skills are not covered in this class. Larger projects and more advance techniques are covered in this class. Two instructors insure ample attention to all students. This class is also a great opportunity for students to fabricate fused glass projects, kiln rental is discounted 50% to current students. Projects totaling more than 6 sq. feet must be pre-approved by Michael. When: Eve Class Tues. Jan. 6th 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM Eve Class Wed. Jan. 7th 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM Day Class Fri. Beginning Glass Beadmaking: Begin a beadmaking adventure by joining this beginning beadmaking class taught by Heather Trimlett. This workshop will cover stuido safety, set-up,and tool options. Participants will practice a wide range of techniques including basic round beads, dots and stringers.
